A specialist recruitment company set up to help redeploy cabin crew in other industries has developed a range of partnerships across the healthcare, retail and hospitality sectors.
The Caterer’s sister magazine Travel Weekly reported on Miramar Connect’s initiative to provide cabin crew to work in the NHS and healthcare companies Cera Care and Care UK, in retail firm Frasers Group and hospitality group Soho House.
Miramar was set up by former airline captain Alan Williams and his wife with cabin crew professional Lyndsey Dodds. Williams and Dodds both lost their jobs in the Thomas Cook collapse in 2019, and Williams was then made redundant from a new role at Virgin Atlantic as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Williams said: “I am really pleased with the progress we have been making educating employers to the transferable skill-set of cabin crew and how they too can gain real value from the unparalleled training and experience of these high-calibre professionals.
“We also are working with Care UK to provide further opportunities in healthcare across the UK and we are particularly pleased to be working with Soho House to provide exceptional talent for high-end service delivery roles across their luxury brand – it is great to be able to support the hospitality sector as they see their first green shoots of recovery."
