Brexit and National Living Wage to dominate The Caterer panel at Hotelympia

Next week at Hotelympia The Caterer will be hosting a panel session analysing what 2016 has in store for hospitality.

Taking place on 2 March at London ExCeL, the session will address what leaving the EU might mean for hospitality, how operators are dealing with the National Living Wage and where the opportunities lie in the year ahead.

Being held in partnership with Christie & Co, this event will also explore the findings of its 2016 Business Outlook and ask whether rents and property prices can continue on their upward trajectory throughout 2016.

The Caterer deputy editor James Stagg will be joined by Oakman Inns chief executive Peter Borg-Neal, Legacy Hotels & Resorts managing director Jim Gordon and Christie & Co directors Neil Morgan, Simon Chaplin and Jeremy Jones.

In a wide-ranging discussion, the group will explore whether the hospitality sector is reaching capacity and analyse where hotels and restaurants will see growth.

The experts will also consider the impact of the National Living Wage on hospitality businesses, and how it might be mitigated, as well as looking at the implications of a potential Brexit.

Stagg said: "With a number of factors hitting hospitality this year, our panel session will offer instruction and guidance on how to successfully navigate the challenges. We've brought together an expert panel who will help inform business plans for the year ahead."

Places at the event, which will include open questions to the panel, are free.
