The Eden Hotel Collection has appointed Martin Kelly general manager of its five-red-AA-star Bovey Castle hotel in Devon.
Kelly previously held general manager positions at the Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and L'Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa in Jersey.
Mark Chambers, managing director of the Eden Hotel Collection, said: "Martin brings a wealth of experience to his pivotal new role as general manager of Bovey Castle. The hotel continues to go from strength to strength and we are looking forward to Martin further shaping the hotel's future development and success."
Francisco Macedo was originally promoted to the general manager role at the 60-bedroom property in Dartmoor National Park following the promotion of Greg Fehler to resort director in July 2017. However, he stepped down one year later for "personal reasons". Macedo is now operations director at Cliveden House in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
The Eden Hotel Collection acquired Bovey Castle from property investment company Delancey in 2014 and embarked on an extensive £10m investment at the hotel. Set in 275 acres of countryside, the flagship property has 60 bedrooms, 22 lodges, an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts and an Elan Spa.
The hotel's three-AA-rosette Great Western restaurant is overseen by head chef Mark Budd, who also manages the hotel's casual dining option, Smith's Brasserie.
The Eden Hotel Collection consists of nine luxury hotels, restaurants and spas: Mallory Court, Leamington Spa; Buckland Tout-Saints hotel and Bovey Castle in Devon; the Kings hotel, Cotswolds; the Arden hotel and Arden house in Stratford-upon-Avon; Brockencote Hall hotel, Worcestershire; the Greenway Hotel & Spa, Cheltenham, and the Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa, Somerset.
