It will see the contract caterer providing nutritious and sustainable menus across the university’s Aldgate and Hollway campuses.
BaxterStorey will also be responsible for delivering a new hospitality service to accelerate the promotion of London Metropolitan University’s large scale commercial event venue, as well as transforming the Highbury Canteen into a food market style space.
Students and staff will have access to a specially created carbon neutral wine list, featuring Toast ale made from surplus bread. Suppliers of BaxterStorey include the social enterprise brand Nemi teas and regeneratively grown WildFarmed pasta.
BaxterStorey has activated its 17-strong onsite team to launch the integration process ahead of the opening of all outlets from 11 September, the start of the new academic year.
The foodservice company’s head of wellness and nutrition, Andy Aston, will also support the creation of a campus wellness programme with London Metropolitan University’s events and hospitality services manager Daniel Caleb.
