Andrew Brownsword's Bath Priory hotel is the only new UK member this year of hotel and restaurant consortium Relais & Châteaux.
The five-red-AA-star, 26-bedroom property is one of 21 new properties to have joined the association. The hotel's Garden Spa by L'Occitane was the first spa in the UK from the French brand. The hotel's F&B is overseen by executive chef Michael Nizzero, including the hotel's three-AA-rosette restaurant.
The other venues joining Relais & Châteaux announced today included: Heritage hotel in Madrid, Spain; Château Neercanne in Maastricht, Netherlands; Serge Vieira in Chaudes-Aigues, France; Restaurant Greuze in Tournus, France; Restaurant André Tokev in Sofia, Bulgaria; Tikida Golf Palace in Agadir, Morocco; and Ji Pin Court in Shanghai, China.
Created in 1954, Relais & Châteaux is a consortium of more than 550 independent hotels and restaurants across the world, 31 of which are in the UK.
