Barrafina Dean Street and Hakkasan lose stars in Michelin 2024 Guide

Barrafina Dean Street, Leroy in Shoreditch, Hakkasan Hanway Place and Hakkasan Mayfair in London have lost their stars in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2024.

 

Outside the capital, Salt in Stratford-upon-Avon and Paco Tapas in Bristol were also among the 18 restaurants to lose their stars.

 

The other twelve of this year’s deletions were due to closures following a difficult year for the industry.

 

These included Michel Roux’s two-Michelin-starred Le Gavroche in London, which the chef shut in January after 57 years of trading to give him a better work-life balance.

 

In County Durham, chef James Close has closed his two-star Raby Hunt restaurant after 14 years to join nearby Rockliffe Hall as culinary director.

 

Several restaurants have also relocated, are in the process of moving to new sites or are set to relaunch under different concepts.
