The 53-bedroom, four-AA-star Balmer Lawn hotel in Hampshire's New Forest has completed a £3.95m refurbishment.
The full amount was loaned from NatWest bank to owners Alison and Chris Wilson to revitalise the hotel, including expanding public areas and upgrading 10 of its 54 bedrooms from standard to superior.
The refurbishment has also included extending function facilities, with corporate and conference areas benefiting from additional space and new furniture.
The Wilsons have also increased the hotel workforce by 30%, bringing the number of staff employed up to 65.
Alison Wilson said: "Chris and I have successfully run two hotels over the past 25 years. We have learnt that is essential to continue investment and development to grow the business."
David Humphreys, senior relationship manager at NatWest, added: "Alison and Chris are very passionate about their business and the role it plays within the local community. They are already seeing the bookings flood in following the refurbishment, and it is fantastic to see their hard work continue to reap rewards."
