Aviator hotel appoints new general manager ahead of reopening

Aviator, the luxury hotel in Farnborough, North Hampshire, has promoted Adam Skrzypczak after four years as director of operations to general manager.

He replaces Dominic Osborne, who had been general manager of Aviator since 2016. Skrzypczak commences his new role from 1 July ahead of the reopening on 4 July of the four-red-AA-starred, 169-bedroom property and its neighbouring gastropub, the Swan.

Skrzypczak began his career in Poland before moving to London to work at the Sheraton Park Tower. He spent three years at the Grove hotel in Hertfordshire, where he managed the Stables restaurant and bar, and five years managing the Montagu restaurant and Churchill bar at the Hyatt Regency before he was promoted to assistant director of food and beverage at the property. He also led the opening team as assistant director of food and beverage at the Hyatt Regency in Russia.

Before joining Aviator, he managed all food and beverage operations at the 414-bedroom Beaumont Estate in Windsor.

Skrzypczak said: “Having seen first-hand how the business has grown from strength to strength over the past few years, I am looking forward to building upon these successes by leading the hotel through this period of uncertainty and positioning it on a route for growth, alongside a dynamic and dedicated team that I already know and respect.”

In addition, further management changes include the promotion of Magda Gora to director of rooms, Fabrizio Braga to director of food and beverage, and the promotion of meetings and events manager Vicky Trevaskis to the senior management team.

Aviator opened in 2008 and after 11 years under the ownership of TAG Group, was acquired in October 2019 by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA).
