Gamechangers Investments supported the launch of its first doughnut café in a Primark store in West Thurrock.
Australian doughnut brand Lena Lu Donuts has launched in the UK for the first time, with plans for three open sites by the end of November.
The first two sites are located in Primark stores at Lakeside, West Thurrock, and Watford, Hertfordshire, following backing from London-based investment company, Gamechangers Investments.
A third Lena Lu site is scheduled to open in November, while more stores are “on the horizon” for 2025, the group said.
Lakeside Lena Lu opened its doors today, while Watford Lena Lu will open on 21 October.
Lena Lu Donuts was founded by entrepreneur Kym Hall and also has a site in Lumiere Mall, Riyadh.
At its Primark sites, guests will be able to customise their own style of doughnut with a choice of fillings, toppings and sauces.
A grab-and-go area will also feature signature flavours, such as cookies and cream, jam, chocolate hazelnut and Biscoff crunch.
Hall, the brand owner at Lena Lu, said: “From humble beginnings in Perth Australia to now partnering with Primark, it’s been an exciting road of growth and innovation. Bringing our interactive doughnut bar to Primark stores in the UK marks a special milestone for us.”
Tim Kelly, director of new business development at Primark, added: “At Primark, we’re always on the lookout for ways to elevate our customer experience and the addition of Lena Lu Donuts to our stores in Watford and Lakeside is another exciting milestone for us. With its fun, hands-on donut creation experience, we know our customers will love the chance to curate their own sweet treats while shopping with us.”
