London hotel occupancies and room rates in August increased to their highest levels since the start of the pandemic, according to preliminary information published by data company STR.
Occupancy stood at 56.8%, while average daily rate and revenue per available room (revpar) was £112.58 and £63.97 respectively.
The devastating impact of Covid-19 is highlighted by a comparison with the figures achieved two years earlier in August 2019, when occupancy was 86.2%, average daily rate was £150.39 and revpar was £129.59.
However, last month’s figures showed an improvement on June’s data when occupancy was 41%, alongside an average daily rate of £99.78 and revpar of £40.96.
