Aprirose appoints Tim Shearman as CEO of hotels

Aprirose has appointed Tim Shearman as CEO of hotels as the company continues its expansion into the hospitality sector.

Shearman is charged with overseeing the asset management and growth of the new hotel business within the company's diverse £1.7b real estate portfolio following its acquisition of the QHotels portfolio for £525m last year.

Shearman joins Aprirose from London & Regional where he was chief operating officer of hotels, prior to which he was vice president of asset management for Westmont Hospitality Group with responsibility for European hotels.

He has also worked at Kew Green Hotels leading its operations strategy. Shearman started his career with Hilton in various general manager roles, and now joins Aprirose with more than 32 years of industry experience.

Shearman said: "As Aprirose continues to grow its diverse portfolio, I look forward with working with the entrepreneurial team to manage the hotel business as the hotel market presents a variety of interesting opportunities."

Manish Gudka, chief executive of Aprirose, added: "Following the acquisition of QHotels we are continuing to manage and grow our asset base within the sector as we identify investment opportunities in the market.

"Tim brings with him a wealth of experience and strong industry relationships and is perfectly placed to execute our structured hotels business strategy. He will play a key role at Aprirose in how we move forward with our hotels business, which now contains 5,576 beds under management."

Aprirose's acquisition of the 26-strong QHotels portfolio in September brought the number of hotels within its portfolio to 37. The company also owns the 275-bedroom Mercure Bristol Holland House Hotel & Spa, the 209-bedroom Hampton by Hilton hotel in London Docklands and the 210-bedroom Reading Hilton.
