Angela Hartnett plans third Cafe Murano restaurant

Angela Hartnett is planning to take her Cafe Murano concept to London's Bermondsey.

The chef-patron of Murano in London's Mayfair currently operates two Cafe Murano sites, in London's St James's and Covent Garden.

She has now submitted planning documents to take on the site on London's Bermondsey Street formerly occupied by Sam Harris' Zucca restaurant, which closed in 2015.

Cafe Murano first opened on St James Street in 2013, developed as a sister to the flagship Michelin-starred Murano in Mayfair, serving rustic Italian dishes including mushroom arancini; tagliatelle, Italian sausage ragù and radicchio; and lamb leg, baby artichoke, peas, broad beans and yogurt.

The Covent Garden site followed in 2015, with a third now imminent in Bermondsey.
