Andrew Wong’s Kym’s restaurant will not reopen

Andrew Wong’s restaurant Kym’s in the City of London’s Bloomberg Arcade will not be reopening.

First reported by Bloomberg’s Richard Vines and confirmed by representatives of the restaurant, Kym’s opened two years ago, a 120-cover restaurant named after Wong's parents' restaurant in Victoria, with a "modern, premium, casual Chinese" offering.

A post on the restaurant’s social media said: “It is with a heavy heart that we have decided not to reopen Kym’s. The decision comes after careful consultation with partners and staff. We're very proud of the Kym’s team and everything we’ve achieved. It has been a fantastic journey and we’re grateful to Bloomberg for their support.”

The menu featured Wong's interpretation of classic Chinese dishes, including sharing platters of crispy duck, pancakes and plum sauce as well as classics such as slow-poached soy chicken, ginger relish and rice.

Wong’s other restaurant, A Wong in Victoria, remains open.
