Adnams announces GM appointment ahead of relaunch of the Swan hotel in Southwold

Suffolk-based brewer Adnams has appointed Lyndon Barrett-Scott as general manager to oversee the reopening of the Swan hotel in Southwold following a £6m refurbishment.

The new look hotel, designed by Project Orange, will reflect its coastal location and the history of Southwold, Adnams and the 17th century property. Barrett-Scott will oversee a team who intend to ensure impeccable service will be centre stage, with a butler greeting every guests, providing room service, offering activity recommendations and acting as a personal concierge.

Food and beverage will be served in the Still Room restaurant, the more informal Tap Room and Tasting Terrace and the Lounge, where afternoon tea will be on offer.

Barrett-Scott said that the Swan had been “an important focal point” in Southwold for hundreds of years. “It’s great to have the opportunity to open a hotel where it is possible to provide the very best experience for guests.

“The fact that the Swan has such close links with brewing and distilling is also exciting, with the Swan not only offering guests a relaxing and indulgent getaway but also an immersive Adnams experience.”

Emma Hibbert, Adnams marketing director, added: “We are really excited to have Lyndon at the helm of this launch as he brings great experience in managing successful hotels across the world and his dedication to fantastic customer service is second to none. This is a once in a generation project for Adnams in terms of both scale and ambition and Lyndon’s expertise will be a real asset.”

The Swan is due to re-open on 13 October.

In addition to the Swan, Adnams has a portfolio of 49 pubs, primarily located in East Anglia, plus one â€" the Bridge House in Tower Bridge Road - in London.
