Savoury pastry producer Addo Food Group has announced an expansion into the foodservice channel.
With over 160 years' experience and with six sites across the UK, the supplier who produces sausage rolls, hot pies, slices, pork pies, scotch egg products and quiches has created its first range of products for the foodservice industry, produced at its Dorset Foods site, that has been designed to work for distribution within the catering industry.
The business is working with Central Foods, to build up its new customer base and will be looking for opportunities within the catering industry in the coming months.
Jon Rose, foodservice commercial controller for Addo Food Group, said: "We are really excited about moving into foodservice. This is a growing sector with more outlets than ever before looking for top quality products to serve and we believe we have a very strong offering. Our expertise in creating a huge range of branded and own label savoury pastry products means that our customers will know they are working with a business that can consistently supply a wide-range of high-quality products.
"As we are a new player to the channel our relationship with Central Foods has been invaluable in helping us identify new ways to make our products available. We are looking forward to exploring the opportunities in this area and are already speaking to a number of hospitality businesses about the products we can create for them."
Addo Food Group has expertise in making gluten-free pastry through its Too Good To Be brand and was the first manufacturer to produce gluten-free pastry on a large scale.
Central Foods is based at Collingtree near Northampton and supplies more than 220 independent wholesalers, as well as larger national and regional wholesalers. It also supplies to foodservice caterers across the industry, including pubs, hotels, restaurants, staff canteens, schools, hospitals, coffee shops, football grounds and universities.
