Chef Adam Simmonds is hosting a ‘pay-what-you-like' fundraising dinner at his pop-up restaurant the Test Kitchen in London Soho in aid of the victims of the Grenfell Tower blaze.
Guests will be asked to pay as much as they'd like for the meal on 17 June, with every single penny raised donated to the Just Giving ‘Families of Grenfell Tower' appeal.
A fire ripped through the Grenfell Tower 24-storey apartment block in west London in the early hours of 14 June, killing at least 17 and injuring and displacing many more.
Simmonds said: "This is a shocking tragedy and this is my small way of supporting those affected by the fire."
Simmonds opened the restaurant last month as a year-long pop-up to experiment and get feedback from diners, before he opens Simmonds, his permanent high end restaurant, in early 2018.
Simmonds won Chef of the Year (fewer than 250 covers) at the Hotel Cateys in 2011 while he was at Danesfield House Hotel and Spa. During his career, he was worked with Marco Pierre White, Paul Heathcote and Raymond Blanc.
