Date: Monday 12 May 2008
Venue: InterContinental London Park Lane, London
Calling all chefs! It's time to get e-mailing, phoning and form-filling to guarantee your place at the 2008 Chef Conference.
Our 26th celebration of the best that British and overseas chefdom has to offer has a (literally) stellar cast of speakers lined up that range from past masters to the newest high-fliers, along with in-depth interview and interactive craft demonstrations.
Chef Conference 2008 will also give you a hint of why Denmarkâs René Redzepi has become one of the most talked-about young chefs in Europe.
Redzepi, the chef-proprietor of the two-Michelin-star Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, will host one of our culinary masterclasses packed with tips for budding chefs while Britainâs own two-Michelin-star-decorated David Everitt-Matthias â" proprietor of Le Champignon Sauvage restaurant in Cheltenham and the 2007 Catey Chef Award winner- will provide a filmed masterclass for our delegatesâ delight.
With green issues creeping steadily up the menu, our keynote speaker Arthur Potts-Dawson - the Green King of Londonâs Acorn House, the UKâs first eco-friendly training restaurant â" will provide some shoots of inspiration on how to run an environmentally sustainable restaurant and kitchen.
Ramsay protégée Angela Hartnett and pastry queen Claire Clark (of Thomas Kellerâs The French Laundry) will talk about their careers on both sides of the Atlantic.
Another high-flier from the Ramsay stable â" Jason Atherton of the one-Michelin-star Maze in London - will be one of the cutting-edge chefs tickling the taste buds of our delegates at the conference dinner.
Helping him out will be Sat Bains, chef-proprietor of the one-Michelin-star Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham and star of the BBCâs Great British Menu.
