Mike Jennings has joined Manchester’s 20 Stories restaurant as executive head chef.
Jennings joins the D&D London restaurant from Wood Manchester, where he was head chef, having also worked as head chef at Bacchus restaurant in Prestbury, Cheshire; Grenache in Salford; and Rhodes South in Dorset. Head chef Brian Hughson left the restaurant this week.
Jennings has already joined the restaurant and is set to launch a new restaurant and bar menu in the next month. Dishes will include grilled mackerel and beetroot salad, whole Dover sole with brown shrimp butter and burnt lemon, and yellowfin tartare with wasabi.
He said: “20 Stories is arguably the best location in Manchester and to have the opportunity to produce my food in that setting was an offer I couldn’t turn down... Not only am I excited to develop the restaurants menus, but come the summer months, we will see a new BBQ menu to enjoy on the terrace overlooking the city.”
20 Stories launched in March 2018 with Aiden Byrne as chef director, however Byrne left the restaurant eight months after its launch to return to Restaurant MCR, formerly Manchester House, which is now closed.
