Monty’s Deli has been named as one of two incoming incoming traders for Kerb’s Seven Dials Market, due to launch in central London in September.
It follows the closure of founder Mark Ogus’ sole independent brick-and-mortar site in Hoxton, which closed last month, and marks a return to the restaurants’ beginnings in 2012, when it launched in Kerb King’s Cross in 2012.
The Jewish deli concept, which specialises in pastrami and salt beef sandwiches, also operates in Market Hall Victoria and Old Spitalfields Market.
Ogus said “After the heartbreak of closing our restaurant in Hoxton, it’s really great to be able to announce we are reuniting with Kerb at Seven Dials Market, right in the heart of the West End.
“The area has an incredible heritage for serving up some of London’s finest salt beef, such as Phil Rabin’s ‘Nosh bar’ and ‘Gaby’s Deli’, now both sadly extinct. We want to bring some of those wonderful flavours and Jewish deli traditions to a whole new generation.”
The Seven Dials site will also incorporate Claw, which will offer seafood rolls and lobster mac and cheese along with an extensive wine and beer list. Claw was launched in 2015 under the ‘InKERBator’ scheme, which helped food start-ups take their first steps into the industry.
