Hilton Garden Inn at Silverstone to open in time for 2020 British Grand Prix

Final approvals have been granted for the construction of a 197-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn at Silverstone race circuit, which is planned to open in time for the 2020 British Grand Prix.

The final approval of reserved matters by Aylesbury Vale District Council comes after F1 owner Liberty Media confirmed that the British Grand Prix will be held at the track in Buckinghamshire for at least the next five years.

Developer Bricks Capital has said the five-storey hotel will overlook the track’s starting grid and provide access to the Silverstone Wing Conference Centre via a footbridge.

Graham Dodd, Hilton’s managing director for development (UK & Ireland), said: “We now operate Hilton hotels at many sporting venues around the UK, including Wembley Stadium, the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground and the Ageas Bowl cricket ground in Southampton. We are delighted to be opening a Hilton Garden Inn in such a prominent and internationally significant motor racing location and we cannot wait to begin welcoming guests next year.”

Allan Davidson, managing director of Bricks Capital Hotels, said: “We are delighted to receive approval for the design of our new Hilton Garden Inn at Silverstone, which further enhances the experience for visitors.

“This site is in an outstanding location, being located on the start/finish line, and we have worked closely with the team at KKA Architecture to ensure the design reflects its inspiring surroundings and we are sure that our partnership with Hilton will enhance the circuit’s appeal, offering quality hospitality year-round. Work has started on site and we are well advanced to open the hotel ready for the Grand Prix 2020.”
