Epic Hospitality Group to operate two Liverpool hotels
Epic Hospitality Group has been appointed to manage two hotels in Liverpool being developed by Elliot Group.
The group will manage the £20m property when it opens in November, which will be named Seel Street Hotel by Epic. The 128-bedroom hotel will have rooftop hotel suites, a residents' bar and a gym. It will be the group's first foray into the hotel sector.
Work is due to start on the second hotel in October, a £70m property on Norfolk Street provisionally named Epic Hotel & Residence Liverpool (pictured). The 306-bedroom property will offer a rooftop pool, spa and lounge.
Both sites will also incorporate a food and beverage offer, yet to be announced.
The group, established in 2012, currently operates aparthotels on the city's Seel Street, Campbell Street and 75 Duke Street.
Epic Hospitality Group managing director Simon Beer, who was previously managing director of SAB Property & Investment, said: "We've been at the cutting edge of the aparthotel movement for a number of years and this deal allows us to expand our portfolio further to encompass the luxury four-star hotel experience."
Elliot Lawless, director of Elliot Group, said: "They're a great partner who understand the Liverpool market intimately, and also how to work with historic properties like our Seel Street hotel."
Discussions were ongoing with PVA Hospitality to manage both properties, however Lawless said that after reaching an in-principle agreement they "just couldn't get the deal over the line".
