The California-based hotel and resort company will be managing the former Military Club in London’s Mayfair when it launches in late 2025.

California-based Auberge Resorts Collection is set to open its first UK property following its appointment by the Reuben brothers to manage Cambridge House, the former In and Out Military Club in London’s Mayfair.

It comes after property tycoons Simon and David Reuben bought the Grade I-listed property alongside six of its surrounding buildings, known as the Piccadilly Estate, for £130m in 2011.

In December 2017, the pair received planning permission from Westminster City Council to develop the former gentlemen’s club and Georgian mansion on 94 Piccadilly into a hotel.

It is believed to have welcomed guests including Queen Victoria, Lord Palmerston, the Duke of Cambridge across the years and was the Naval and Military ‘In and Out’ Club from 1865 to 1999.

Cambridge House, Auberge Resorts Collection, is expected to open in late 2025 as part of the Reuben Brothers’ £1b regeneration of the Piccadilly Estate, which spans 1.3 acres.

Once open, the property will offer 102 rooms, a private members’ club, a Georgian era ballroom, an open-air jasmine courtyard, a brasserie, and a double-level spa, complete with hydrotherapy facilities, two heated swimming pools, seven treatment rooms and a gym.

Dan Friedkin, chairman at Auberge Resorts Collection, said: “Reuben Brothers’ vision for Cambridge House is incredibly inspiring and we are honored to have been chosen to usher this uniquely British property into its next chapter as a luxury hotel.

“Adding such an iconic Mayfair destination to our growing portfolio is also an exciting step forward in our focused expansion into Europe.”

Later this year, the brand will open Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection in Florence, joining its two existing Auberge properties in France and Greece.

Auberge Resorts Collection was founded in 1981 and has since grown its portfolio to 28 hotels and resorts, most of which are located in North America.
