Caffè Nero's UK MD appointed to the board

Coffee chain Caffè Nero has appointed its UK managing director to the board.

Jonathan Hart, who joined the company in June of this year, has more than 20 years retail sector experience, having previously held posts at Dixons and Woolworths Big W. His most recent post was head of branch distribution at Abbey.

Caffè Nero chairman Gerry Ford said Hart's strong grounding in retail would provide a boost for the company as it continues to expand its store network, enhance the customer experience and develop its product offering.

"Caffè Nero is a rapidly growing business and it is imperative that we continue to build on our retail skills at senior management level and maximise the retail opportunity for our brand," said Ford.

He added: "Jonathan has an outstanding retail pedigree and skill set that will be of great value as we continue to grow our business. We are delighted to welcome him to the board."
