Darwin & Wallace to open pub at Battersea Power Station

Independent neighbourhood bar group Darwin & Wallace is to open No 29 Power Station West on 28 July, making it the only pub in Battersea Circus West Village development.

No 29 Power Station West will serve over 30 wines; 20 craft, draught and bottled beer; home made soft drinks and a selection of seasonal long and short serves including the Watermelon Sour and Passionfruit Caipirinha.

Menus feature an all-day food offering including a breakfast of avocado lime and chilli on sourdough to a lunch of coconut poached chicken salad, Sunday roasts of slow cooked short rib of beef and roast chicken breast, and desserts such as white chocolate creme brûlée with passionfruit.

Mel Marriott, Darwin & Wallace, managing director said: "We feel privileged and very excited to open our fifth pub in one of London's most iconic locations. Together with our one of a kind collaborators, we are building a place of integrity, a place with a sense of home. With references to its industrial past and its iconic location and views over the river and the arches, No 29 Power Station West will be the perfect backdrop for eating and drinking."

Rob Tincknell, CEO of Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: "The opening of No 29 Power Station West is another major step forward in the transformation of this part of London into an exciting new cultural and food destination. Circus West Village has a distinctive neighbourhood feel with a great mix of local shops, restaurants, Village Hall and more. I cannot wait to try the village pub, it looks fantastic."

Located between Battersea Power Station and Battersea Park, No 29 Power Station West will feature over 100 pieces of handpicked and crafted furniture including leathers, velvets and linens inspired by the art deco era.

The Darwin & Wallace collection of independent bars across London includes: No 11 Pimlico Road, No 32 The Old Town, No 1 Duke Street and No 197 Chiswick Fire Station.
