New £1.2m function suite for Duncan Bannatyne's Hastings hotel
A £1.2m function suite is to be developed at the four-star, 41-bedroom Bannatyne Spa hotel in Hastings, with the aim of creating the premier wedding venue on the East Sussex coast.
Due to be complete by autumn 2011, the 814sq m ballroom will be able to seat 300 guests.
Standing independent of the hotel, the suite will mirror the Georgian style of the Spa hotel, with a tiled black and white chequered floor and the contemporary twist of a LED starlit dance floor.
Since purchasing the hotel in 2007, Duncan Bannatynne's (pictured) the Bannatynne group has refurbished the property and added a £2m extension, which created a new bar and increased the number of bedrooms and suites by more than 40%.
Nigel Armstrong, managing director of the Bannatyne group, said the new suite is a logical step as the hotel has established a name for itself in hosting functions and events.
"We are always looking at opportunities to regenerate our profits into areas of the business that offers members and guests the highest quality of facilities and services," he said.
The Bannatyne group owns and operates four hotels. As well as the Hastings property, there are also hotels in Darlington, Durham and Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
