Dowling to leave Grand Jersey for Royal Horseguards
Anna-Marie Dowling, currently managing director of the Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa, has been appointed general manager of the Royal Horseguards, Guoman's five-star hotel in London.
She will join the 281-bedroom hotel in September, replacing John Beecroft, who has already left the hotel.
Dowling, who has previously worked at Le Meridien Piccadilly and London's Marriott County Hall, recently led the Grand Jersey through a £15m-refurbishment, culminating in the hotel being awarded five stars. The Grand Jersey is now being sold by its property investor owners, Delancey.
Heiko Figge, managing director of Guoman and Thistle Hotels, said of Dowling's appointment: "Anna-Marie's renowned expertise, drive, passion and attention to detail within this high-end sector of the industry will have a considerable impact on the future development of the Royal Horseguards and mark out the hotel's clear placement within London's five-star marketplace."
The bar and the restaurant at the Royal Horseguards will undergo a major refurbishment in the autumn and early next year.
