Campanile hotel opens at Glasgow Airport
The second Campanile hotel for Glasgow opened today. Located at Glasgow International Airport, it joins sister hotel, Campanile SECC.
Formerly operating as the Purple Hotel, the new 103-bedroom Campanile Hotel Glasgow International Airport is being operated under the Campanile budget brand, one of seven brands belonging to the Louvre Hotel Group.
The hotel's opening comes four months after Louvre Hotels put its entire estate of UK properties - then comprising 17 Campanile and one Première Classe - up for sale, although it intended to continue operating the hotels under a management contract. However, the company has now taken the hotels off the market.
Newly appointed general manger Alan Deller, who was previously at the Campanile Hotel in Swindon, said the new property was an economy hotel with a difference.
"It has a distinct personality and, unusually for this style of operation, a truly great restaurant on site serving delicious French-inspired seasonal menus and buffets."
