Catermasters races to sponsor Olympic hopeful

Catermasters is going for gold and has sponsored an athlete from Leamington Spa, where the company is based, in her bid to secure a spot on Team GB at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The B&I catering specialist is supporting Sara McGreavy who is aiming for one of three slots on the 100-metre hurdles team. She is a former national champion and won the UK Athletics Challenge Final title and scooped the silver medal at the England Senior Championships in 2010.

Catermasters invited McGreavy to its headquarters last week in order to give her the keys to her company-sponsored BMW and the athlete will help the caterer to promote the importance of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle in the run up to the Games.

She said: "As an athlete, this type of support is fantastic and a dream come true. It means I can focus solely on my training and qualifying for the biggest sporting event in the world. I'm extremely grateful to Catermasters for sponsoring me and putting so much faith in me as a local athlete."

"It is clearly a very innovative company that is at the top of a very competitive industry. We are both striving for the same goals so I'm expecting the next 12 months to be a very exciting journey and hopefully I can make everyone at Catermasters proud by earning the right to call myself an Olympian."

Nigel Johnson, joint managing director at Catermasters, added: "Sara is a very talented lady and fits in with our strategy of supporting and helping people to develop their skills.

"Olympic fever is already building and I think Sara will play a leading role in helping us to get our healthy eating and lifestyle messages to our customers. She is living proof that a healthy approach to life gets results."
