Win a £4,000 trip to the Olive harvest in Spain with Olive It!
Olive It! is a new creative competition with backing from the European Union and Olives of Spain in partnership with Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy of Tapas Revolution and Caterer and Hotelkeeper.
The aim of the competition is to encourage the next generation of chefs to experiment with olives and appreciate their unique health and taste benefits. The competition is open to full or part-time hospitality and catering students.
Allibhoy, a 2012 Acorn Award winner and owner of Spanish restaurants Tapas Revolution, who is one of the judges of the competition, said: "The UK has got a lot of great talent and this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and get noticed in our competitive industry.
"Taking part in the competition will help chefs build confidence and develop new skills and I look forward to meeting the finalist and seeing their exciting creations."
Chefs and students up to the age of 25 are being asked to come up with a menu that incorporates green or black olives in every course and as one of the principal ingredients - the more creative the better. The menu must feature four courses including: canapé, starter, main course and dessert.
