Supplier News: Discover the versabeanity of Heinz

Caterers are craving new ideas to add a point of difference on the menu. This Independence Day (4th July), to celebrate the launch of its new Versabeanity campaign, Heinz Foodservice is giving a lucky caterer the chance to win a trip to Boston with its recipe competition!

The new campaign has been designed to unlock the opportunity and highlight the versatility of Heinz Baked Beanz in the foodservice market. Rather than continually use beanz as a side portion, Heinz Foodservice is encouraging caterers to think of new ways to use Heinz Baked Beanz and bring some excitement to the menu.

By submitting their recipe ideas to a new competition, to be judged by the Craft Guild of Chefs, caterers can be in with a chance of winning a five-day trip to Boston, home of the famous Boston Baked Bean dish. There are also two runner-up prizes of £100 worth of Ticketmaster vouchers to see Jack and his magic beans in the classic pantomime or a show of their choosing.

The Versabeanity recipe competition has been designed to support an on-pack foodservice promotion running throughout August and September, which will identify Heinz Baked Beanz as Chef's Magic Beans. Eight recipes utilising beanz as a key ingredient have been created by Heinz development chef Gary Barnshaw and will feature inside 50,000 cases of 2.62kg of promotional product. In addition, every can of beanz will have a unique reference number which will give caterers the chance to win a share of £100,000.

"Beanz can be incorporated into many dishes and are easy and convenient to use. In addition beanz are healthy and can help caterers meet the demand for healthy offerings on the menu," says Tal Drori, brand manager of Heinz Foodservice Baked Beanz.

To be in with a chance of winning a trip to Boston, caterers need to prepare a recipe featuring Heinz Baked Beanz as the key ingredient. For an entry form, simply email suzi@proactivecommunications.co.uk.
