St-Rémy launches Oloroso Sherry Casks Finish Collection
French Brandy producer St-Rémy has released the fifth expression of its Cask Finish Collection, the Oloroso Sherry Casks.
The new expression celebrates the expertise of St-Rémy's master blender, Cécile Roudaut, in selecting and maturing the brandy in various types of cask. For the fifth edition, Roudaut has aged St-Rémy in 10 casks that previously held Oloroso Sherry, a fortified wine from the Spanish region of Jerez de la Frontera. The result brings brandy notes of red fruits, cherry, fig, dates, fresh butter, ginger and liquorice.
The brand launched the collection with the French Chardonnay Casks in 2018 with the Cabernet-Sauvignon Casks following in 2019.
Commenting on the launch, released with a virtual tasting, St-Rémy global brand director Hervé Buzon said: "Since its successful launch in 2018, the St-Rémy Cask Finish Collection has become an important part of our range. Every new release is highly anticipated, and demand is strong. The Oloroso Sherry Casks Finish range is the expression of our master blender's creativity and expertise in selecting different types of casks each time.
The Oloroso Sherry Casks edition has limited availability, with only 17,800 bottles available in two formats, a 70cl and one-litre bottle.
