Quickes Vintage Cheddar from the Cheese Cellar Company

A premium vintage Cheddar which has been matured for much longer than most cheeses has joined the list of more than 1,500 varieties on offer from the Cheese Cellar Company.

Quickes Vintage Cheddar is made by artisan family producer Quickes, which has perfected a highly intensive production process in Devon over the past 450-plus years. The cheese, unusually for a Cheddar, has a rind and is marked by a rich, deep, rounded flavour and a distinct aroma and texture. The muslin-wrapped truckle is matured for two years and is produced in limited volumes each year.

The vintage Cheddar is sold either as a whole 15kg truckle or in portions from 2kg upwards, with prices set around £13 per kilogram.
