Point of Sale Terminals from Sharp

The new UP-800 series of electronic point of sale terminals from Sharp are packed with customisable features that hospitality and catering businesses can tailor to provide an easy-to-use interface with minimal risk of entry errors.

The two black-and-grey terminals combine a flat keyboard and a tiltable 6.5in backlit colour touch-screen in two formats - the entry-level UP-800F and the UP-810F, which has an integrated 80mm fast thermal printer.

The touch-screen has 15 customisable keys, while the keyboard has a number of direct PLU keys (price or product look-up codes) that allow related groups of items to be clearly organised - useful when menus and prices change during the day.

Other useful functions include flexible bill separation for groups of customers, which splits payment by customer, amount and item; an enhanced promotions menu; customer relationship management features; comprehensive report capability; and nine exchange and conversion rates.

Both terminals are based on the easy-to-use Sharp EPROM platform and have a standard ethernet interface to network a number of terminals, an SD card slot for data back-up, RS232 interface ports, and optional magnetic card readers.
