Former AA inspector launches coffee roastery

16 January 2020 by

Former AA inspector Peter Sturdey has launched his own Kent-based coffee roastery, catering to both the in-home and out-of-home market.

Sturdey previously worked as a hotel and restaurant inspector for 11 years, covering Greater London, South East and the Channel Islands for the guidebook.

Tunbridge Wells Coffee Roastery includes a wholesale business for hotels, restaurants and cafes and specialises in hand-roasted single origin and speciality blends.

Sturdey said: "Coffee has always been a passion and was one thing I found myself continually writing about in reports. The coffee market is really growing and with standards so much better, there is less margin for serving poor quality coffee.

"Finishing a meal with a delicious espresso and any peripherals is the last impression the customer gets on a meal and in many respects is no different from a good or bad check-out experience in a hotel from reception."
