Pelican Buying Company win contract at Queens Hotel & Spa Bournemouth
Pelican Buying Company has won a £230k contract with The Queens Hotel & Spa, a family-run three-AA-star hotel in Bournemouth.
The contract win will allow Pelican to work with the hotel to consolidate its purchasing requirements across ambient and non-foods disposables to ensure greater productivity, better efficiency and increased profitability across the businesses.
Daniel Marsh, general manager of the hotel, said: "Food costs have rocketed recently and as a business we needed to become much smarter with our purchasing."
"To our detriment, we had relationships in place with suppliers for a number of years, which meant they were driving our purchasing decisions and dictating to us on price. We needed to take a step back, re-evaluate and put the hotel back in control.
"We're expecting to save between 8-10% on our current food costs and drastically improve our profit margins across all product categories.
