Paper & Cup launches second coffee-book shop in London

The new project is managed by Brent Clark, SCT's special projects manager, whose aim is to create a profitable business that can change people's lives.

People who have gone through an addiction-recovery programme are trained to work in an environment that is as far away from a charity coffee shop as one could imagine.

The aim is to provide the perfect coffee, pastries, home-baked cakes and hot food all the time, served by perfectly trained baristas.

The SCT launch was supported by the senior management team of contract catering company Lexington Catering.

Mike Sunley, Lexington's founder and chief executive, said: "We were very impressed with Paper & Cup's ethics and determination. We are run on strong principles, and if we can make a difference to other people's lives, in the way we strive to look after our own staff, then it's our way of giving something back to society for a most worthwhile cause."
