Palmer and Harvey moves into foodservice

Palmer and Harvey delivered wholesale has launched a van sales operation, P&H Direct.

Set up to service foodservice outlets such as cafes, snack bars, garden centres and pubs. The vans will stock fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) lines including crisps, chocolate count-lines, chilled drinks and catering essentials such as coffee and tea.

Each van will be staffed by a FMCG category specialist who will provide expert advice and guidance tailored to the customer including advice on ranging, merchandising and promotions.

Huw Davies, managing director, P&H Direct, said: "This is an excellent opportunity both for Palmer and Harvey and for our new customers. Our customers will be able to benefit from having specialists in their businesses making sure they have what their consumers are looking for.

"Our reps will ensure businesses can maximise their profits from these important categories. Foodservice operators will be able to focus on their core business safe in the knowledge that these lines are being managed by experts."

Palmer and Harvey's van sales division consists of three companies Snacksdirect, Sweetdirect and P&H Direct. The three brands call on 1,000 customers an hour and visit over 50,000 customers every two weeks.
