Oven with self-service display from Profile

A convection oven which can cook food such as baked potatoes and pastries and then display them as part of a self-service counter is now being made in the UK by Profile Catering Equipment (PCE). Called Vision, the table-top unit comprises a fan-assisted oven able to bake up to 60 potatoes or other items at temperatures up to 240°C.

An independently heated display area mounted above the oven is readily accessible via a full-width curved glass door on a gas ram hinge mechanism. Units are made in two versions: back-loaded for siting on a front counter, and frontally loaded for use on a back bar. The new unit, priced at about £1,750, can be sited directly alongside a range of hot, chilled and combination counter-top merchandisers also made by PCE.

These have curving glass gantries which visually match the Vision's glass top and can be specified in a choice of eight formats, including dry-heat bains-marie, heated Ceran plate and chilled well using eutectic plates. Alternatively, units can be supplied in back-bar versions.
