New Tilda recipe booklet supports the School Food Plan

Tilda is hoping to support school caterers as they gear up for healthier recipes demanded by the School Food Plan with the launch of a recipe booklet, which outlines the nutritional benefits of rice for school children.

Following last year's launch of Tilda Brown 'n' White easy cook rice and with the School Food Plan recommending a 50:50 white/brown rice mix, Tilda's guide contains a selection of recipes using the rice, with a full nutritional breakdown of each recipe and tips to ensure meals comply with government guidelines.

Mark Lyddy, head of foodservice for Tilda, said: "Local education authorities and school caterers are under growing pressure to produce nutritionally balanced food and we want to help them by communicating the key role that Tilda Brown 'n' White can play.

"It provides all the additional health benefits of a brown wholegrain rice with the eating properties of an easy cook white long grain, helping caterers serve up food that meets national dietary guidelines."
