Last chance to enter Best British Roast Dinner competition

The Best British Roast Dinner competition closes for entries on Monday 2 September.

Sisi Ryder, Best British Roast Dinner 2012 champion and owner of the Phoenix Inn, said: "Since winning the Best British Roast Dinner title we've had a very successful year, with more people coming to try our roast dinners than ever before. Not to mention lots of lovely comments on TripAdvisor too. Even our competitors mentioned that they wished they'd entered too."

The first round of the competition is being judged by the Great Yorkshire Pudding Challenge 2012 winner and blogger Chris Blackburn (pictured) who starred in the hit series Food Glorious Food earlier this year. He will help shortlist five outlets that will be visited by a mystery diner next month.

Blackburn observed: "Roast dinners are part of our heritage and bring people together. I'm looking forward to seeing what the pubs, restaurants, hotels and canteens of Great Britain have to offer."
