La Motte wines from Raisin Social

La Motte wines are made using grapes drawn from La Motte's estates as well as other farms in South Africa's Cape winelands. A thousand tons of grapes are processed in La Motte's modern cellars each year, where old-world winemaking methods are combined with modern technology.

Among the offerings is the award-winning Shiraz Viognier 2005 (13% abv), which has picked up an International Wine Challenge 2007 Trophy, Concours Mondial Bruxelles Medaille d'Or 2007 and the International Wine Challenge 2007 Gold award.

The wine combines 91% concentrated berry fruit and spice of the Shiraz with 9% floral character of Viognier to produce a complex, silky, dry red.

The full-bodied La Motte Millennium 2004 (abv 14.5%) is a full-bodied blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec grapes.

La Motte Shiraz 2005 (14% abv) combines grapes from different vineyards and has a firm structure with a long finish. Organically grown grapes are used to create the La Motte Sauvignon Blanc (2007), described as an ample-bodied, fresh-tasting wine with a 13.5% abv.
