JJ Food Service launches fully-traceable fresh British pork

Enfield-based JJ Food Service has introduced two fully-traceable fresh British pork lines to its fresh meat range, as part of its ongoing plan to expand its offering to restaurants, gastro-pubs and hotels.

The pork is the latest addition to the fresh meat line-up, which also includes fully-traceable British beef and Welsh lamb, which were announced last month. The fully-traceable British pork cuts include boneless shoulder and neck ends, currently on offer from £1.99/kg.

Chief product officer for JJ Food Service, Ali Guvemli, said: "Consumers continue to want assurance that the meat on their menu is locally-sourced and animal-welfare approved. We are responding by working towards making our business a one-stop shop for locally-sourced, high-quality fresh meats."

In addition to the new pork range, JJ is investigating the introduction of a fresh meat counter, which will feature a Meatologist, a fresh meat and butchery expert who will cut and prepare meats for customers.
