Guilt-free cakes from Anthony Alan Foods

Indulgent cakes with the flavour but not the calories of full-fat versions are the speciality of the Weight Watchers line of snacks produced under licence in the UK by Anthony Alan Foods. They account for more than half the low-fat cakes sold in the UK.

With chocolate near the top of the snacks list, the Weight Watchers Chocolate Cake Bar - sold in packs of five bars, each containing 86 calories - is a popular line.

Three new cakes have also been launched recently through George Adams van sales. The 27g Carrot Cake Slices with yogurt coating and just 71 calories apiece and the 26g, 79-calorie Lemon Cake Slices are both sold in twin-packs. The third new option - Choc Chip Mini Muffins - combines three 15g cakes with 46 calories each in a pack.

All three newcomers are supplied in counter-display units that contain eight packs of cakes.
