Free food safety training from DayMark

The website for the Food Standards Agency's Scores on the Doors food hygiene rating scheme attracts more than seven million hits a month, while the latest Which? survey found that 70% of people would be deterred from visiting a restaurant with a low rating. Both points underline the urgent commercial need to have an effective food safety management system in place - which is also a legal requirement.

DayMark UK has teamed up with the Safer Food System to give Product Zone readers free access to the first three levels of its Safer Food System online training programme. These levels will give caterers enough information to put together a HACCP-compliant food safety management system that will satisfy environmental health officers.

"What makes this programme different is that there is no need to go to college to get the training - it can be done in bite-sized chunks as and when it's possible for the caterer to fit it in," said Greg Fitchett, sales director at DayMark UK.
