Sauce and stocks manufacturer Essential Cuisine has unveiled a catering guide for public sector chefs for use during Covid-19.

The free downloadable guide centres on waste, nutrition, hygiene, practical menu planning and recipes to help make food go further.

The bitesize guide has been created by the manufacturer's team of development chefs who share countless colleagues and customers currently helping battle against the spread of Covid-19 in the sector. Business development chef Robin Dudley said: "It's clear that the spread of Covid-19 is having a huge impact on society and placing unprecedented demands on catering and health provision. For chefs who need to continue to provide food, there are a whole host of challenges to overcome, from increased demand, longer lead times on ingredients and practical hygiene steps.

"We wanted to combine some useful advice and short-term ideas to help chefs adapt and cope with the current operational challenges. As a passionate supporter of working kitchens, we're doing everything that we can to help ease just some of the pressures."

The guide is available to download now here.
