Equipment manufacturer Valentine celebrates 70 years

Valentine is marking its 70th anniversary with a series of celebratory events.

The company was founded in 1952 by René Paris, a restaurateur from Lausanne, Switzerland, and remains a a family-owned business today. Valentine is now headed up by René's grandchildren, Christophe Paris, Stéphanie Berthet-Paris and Julien Paris, who have recently taken over from the founder's son, Bernard.

Valentine's manufactures 400 different models of fryers, pasta cookers, plate warmers and chip scuttles from a production facility in Romanel-sur-Morges, which was purpose-built in 2014.

Christophe Paris, Valentine's current chief executive, said: "Every change of generation brings with it a fresh perspective, which is essential to the long-term success of a company. When I took over from my father, I was keen to continue fostering the family values and developing the company while consolidating and leveraging the know-how that has made it famous for 70 years. Now, with roots firmly planted, Valentine is preparing an innovative future, as reflected in the new range currently under development."

Steve Elliott, sales director of Valentine equipment in the UK, added: "Reaching 70 years is a milestone to celebrate for any business, but it is an especially proud moment for a family-run company such as Valentine. With precision craftsmanship and innovation at the core of the business, chefs around the world are relying on our equipment to deliver standout menus."

To celebrate the 70th anniversary, Valentine will be staging tours, tastings and gourmet events and publishing a book celebrating the company's journey later this year.
