Diageo World Class GB announces education programme for bartenders

Diageo World Class GB has launched its education programme for bartenders preparing for the World Class GB 2023 competition, which will take place during London Cocktail Week this October.

Branded as the World Class Studios Tours 2022, the programme is due to take place live and in-person from May to August.

New modules with leading drinks professionals, such as Future Proof with Seedlip and the Singleton & Talisker Cocktail Cartography, have been added to the line-up.

This year's series also promises to focus on the leading trends in the global drinks industry, collaborating with trade partners and prioritising inclusivity throughout the process.

Nicci Kendall, head of brand advocacy, Diageo GB, said: "Community within our industry has become more important than ever and after these challenging few years, we really wanted to make sure we were giving back to the industry and supporting them in any way we can. We've reshaped our education programme and are hoping to reach more bartenders than before, helping them to upskill so they are best placed to excel in their careers as well as prepare for World Class GB 2023, which will come back bigger and better in October.

"Although World Class GB is taking the time to reform and reshape the local competition programme, the Global World Class programme and final will be happening in Sydney. We wish all competitors luck and look forward to joining them again next year!"

Over the past 13 years, Diageo World Class has supported, trained and inspired over 400,000 bartenders internationally, including over 5,000 in Britain.

Diageo is a global company with brands like Johnnie Walker, Guinness and Tanqueray under its belt, selling alcohol products in more than 180 countries.
