Creeds launch into foodservice with new premises

Creeds Direct, a supplier of bakery equipment has launched into the foodservice sector with an extended range of catering equipment.

The family-run business, which has recently moved premises, prides itself on being able to provide solutions for anyone undertaking on a bakery, confectionery, chocolate, sugar-craft or patisserie business; its entire sales team is made up of ex-chefs and bakers.

Laurent Valbret, managing director of Creeds Direct, said: "The move to larger premises was needed to accommodate our growth, which was in excess of 29% in 2013, year on year. More warehouse space was needed and we grew from 2,400 sq ft to 4,100 sq ft.

"We left an old building full of memories but we now have plenty of space for future growth and a showroom with demonstration area. We can attribute much of our success to the fact that we have founded our business on excellent customer relations and we are welcoming those customers to pop in, say ‘hi' and have a look around."

With more bakers moving towards retailing food to go, Creeds has gradually been supplying more and more catering equipment to them. In addition, many mainstream caterers are baking more in-house and pastry chefs, chocolatiers and confectioners in hotels and restaurants are demanding a wider choice of suppliers.

"Operators are looking more and more for a genuine USP and good quality, home-baked goods are popular with the consumer, especially since awareness has been raised by television programmes such as The Great British Bake Off and Britain's Best Bakery, which has featured many of Creeds customers," added Valbret.
