Caterers can make a splash with their dessert menus with a cordless table-top chocolate fountain. The Professional Cordless Fountain (CF150) has been designed by Giles & Posner to serve up to six customers on one table and is powered by rechargeable batteries after the initial warm-up to avoid trailing mains cables (which it can also use).
The fondue fountain is 413mm high and 200mm wide, made from heavy-gauge 304 stainless steel and uses a direct-drive motor to avoid belts breaking or slipping.
It operates on between 600g and 900g of chocolate, and Giles & Posner has made its luxury Belgian fondue chocolate available in smaller 5kg catering pouches as a more cost-effective alternative to the existing 10kg bags.
Its chocolate contains no vegetable fats or hydrogenated oils, which cheaper brands use to reduce the volume of more costly cocoa butter.
The fountain costs £229.95 and is available in two 200W versions - one at 220V and 50Hz, the second at 110V and 30Hz. The 5kg chocolate pouches cost £24 each, or £64 for four.
