Clean unveil a new £15m super laundry

Independent laundry company and supplier of linen and workwear services, Clean, has unveiled its new £15m super laundry in Berkshire.

Rumoured to be one of the most modern industrial laundries in the UK, the new state-of-the-art 42,000 sq ft site was the culmination of 18 months of intense planning and management with more than 90 people on site at the peak of the build, including engineers from laundry equipment manufacturers Kannegiesser and a senior management team from Clean led by CEO, Jason Miller.

The completely integrated and fully automated laundry was designed to achieve optimum production levels, together with low energy consumption figures.

"This is another vital milestone in the development and growth of Clean, and a major step for the business following a well-documented year of success that saw the company's turnover increase significantly towards £80m," said Miller.

"We chose the location of the new laundry as the optimum position to service the thriving south east and London hotel market. With PWC predicting in its UK Hotels Forecast Report that London will see upwards of 7,200 new hotel rooms in 2017, adding to the 145,930 available in 2016, there is plenty of demand for reliable linen services. We have also mapped out smart delivery routes that incur minimal mileage, all helping to reduce delivery times and improve our fleet emissions and diesel utilisation."
